Information processed
RecordSlip may process receipt images, recognized text, merchant, purchase date, subtotal, tax, tip, total, currency, category, notes, projects, export templates, recognition confidence, and user corrections. The app also maintains scan-usage balances, purchase status, processing duration, duplicate hashes, local export history, and app-integrity information needed to operate and protect the service.
Local processing and storage
Receipt images and records are stored in the app's local container. Recognition initially runs on the device. Free and paid scan usage and credited consumable transaction identifiers are stored atomically in the device Keychain to prevent duplicate credits and accidental loss.
Erase Local Workspace deletes receipts, images, projects, export templates, export history, and local product-quality counters. It retains limited purchase and usage state so the action cannot recreate free credits or destroy paid credits.
Optional iCloud Drive backup
If you choose Back Up Now, RecordSlip writes a complete workspace archive to the app's private iCloud Drive container and retains up to five backups. Apple operates iCloud under your Apple account and its own terms. RecordSlip remains usable without iCloud, and backup is not automatic.
Optional online enhancement
Pro users may enable Improve Uncertain Fields. Only when a required field is uncertain or the local result contains a defined date, amount, or candidate conflict, RecordSlip may send bounded OCR text, per-line confidence, normalized line positions, local candidate fields, non-content reason codes, an Apple-signed subscription proof, and an App Attest device and app-integrity assertion. Receipt images and user corrections are not sent.
Text-only enhancement is processed through OpenAI. The API request disables provider application-state storage. OpenAI may retain submitted content in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days unless the production API project is approved and configured for Zero Data Retention.
Purchases and app integrity
Apple processes purchases, subscriptions, refunds, App Store Server status, and App Attest verification. RecordSlip receives signed transaction and integrity data needed to determine access and prevent fraud. It does not receive your full payment-card details.
Analytics and diagnostics
RecordSlip uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand limited app-use information, such as app lifecycle events, app version, device model, and operating-system version. It uses Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and diagnostics. Firebase does not receive receipt images, recognized receipt text, merchant names, amounts, corrections, notes, projects, exports, or backup contents.
Tracking, advertising, sale, and training
RecordSlip contains no advertising SDKs, does not use Firebase advertising features, does not track users across other companies' apps or websites, and does not sell personal information. Receipt content is not used to train our own models.
Sharing and service providers
Information is shared only as needed with Apple for StoreKit, App Attest, and optional iCloud Drive; with Google Firebase for app-use analytics and crash diagnostics; with OpenAI for optional text-only enhancement; and with Vultr, which hosts TLS, Redis, and the recognition service. These providers may process information in countries other than yours under their applicable terms and safeguards.
Security and retention
RecordSlip uses platform sandboxing, Keychain storage for usage state, TLS for service traffic, App Attest, signed StoreKit credentials, bounded requests, shared rate limits, encrypted short-lived cache values, and restricted logging. No system is perfectly secure. Local receipt data remains until you erase the workspace or uninstall the app; iCloud backups remain until removed under the app or Apple backup controls.
Your choices
- Keep online enhancement disabled and use local recognition only.
- Export your workspace and images from Settings.
- Erase the local receipt workspace from Settings.
- Delete RecordSlip backups from the app's private iCloud Drive storage using available Apple and iCloud controls.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
