What the app handles
Payday Budget lets you enter a display name, cleared balance, payday schedule, pay amount, bills, due dates, categories, cash floor, reminder choices, and related planning notes. This financial planning information is used to calculate the safe-to-spend amount and future plan you request.
On-device storage
Your plan, calculations, and reminder settings are stored in the app's local storage on your iPhone. The app does not require a Payday Budget account and does not transmit this information to a ByteEra Labs server.
Encrypted backup you control
When iCloud Drive is available, Payday Budget can create an encrypted backup in the app's private iCloud Drive container. The app encrypts the backup before it is written to iCloud. A recovery key stored on your device is required to unlock a backup; ByteEra Labs does not receive the recovery key or keep a readable copy of your plan. You can also export an encrypted backup file to a location you choose.
Purchases
Reserve Pro is processed by Apple through StoreKit. Payday Budget uses on-device StoreKit information to check whether Reserve Pro is active and to restore an eligible purchase. ByteEra Labs does not receive your payment-card number or create a separate purchase account for you.
Notifications
Bill reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone after you choose to enable them. Payday Budget does not use a push-notification server or send your reminder content to ByteEra Labs.
No analytics, advertising, or tracking
Payday Budget does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking. We do not sell personal information, use your plan for advertising, or track you across apps or websites.
Your choices
- Use the app without creating an account or connecting a bank.
- Turn bill reminders on or off in Settings.
- Use iCloud Drive backup when available, or export an encrypted recovery file to a location you choose.
- Remove local app data by deleting the app. Manage any iCloud Drive backup through the app and the iCloud controls available on your device.
